Responding to individuals and families in crisis.

Our mission at Crisis Services of North Alabama is to respond to individuals and families in crisis. We provide crisis counseling to those facing emotional distress and offer vital assistance to victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Our HELPline (256-716-1000) operates around the clock, with trained volunteers who offer compassionate listening and work hard to connect callers with the necessary community resources and support.

Our trauma-informed, comprehensive services for victims of intimate partner violence include emergency shelter, court advocacy, counseling for adult victims and the children who witness the violence, case management, information and referrals, educational instruction regarding health and safety issues, and support groups. Our Sexual Assault Response Coordinator is available to provide crisis counseling, emotional support, and medical and court advocacy.

Crisis Services holds the distinction of being the exclusive provider of forensic examinations in the counties we serve, specifically for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. Our dedicated team of Forensic Nurse Examiners undergoes rigorous training to ensure they possess the necessary expertise to conduct these crucial examinations, as well as other medical care, with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity. An exam by one of our Forensic Nurse Examiners is available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week, at no cost.

We serve the communities of Jackson, Limestone, Madison, and Morgan counties with compassion and care, operating with a trauma-informed approach and prioritizing confidentiality to understand the unique needs of individuals in distress.

Sustaining programs and services for individuals and families in crisis

To continue assisting individuals in times of crisis, we rely on grants, donations, and the support of our local community. Together, we can continue to provide programs and services for those who’ve experienced the trauma of interpersonal violence and help them regain hope.

Set Up a Recurring Donation

By committing to donate a specific amount regularly, such as monthly or annually, you provide stable funding that helps our organization plan and sustain our essential services effectively.

Ask Your Employer About Matching

If your employer matches donations to non-profits, your contributions to Crisis Services could effectively double the impact your contributions have on helping victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Sponsor One of Our Events

When you provide financial support for one of our fundraising or awareness-raising events, you help cover event expenses and contribute directly to our mission. Bonus: it shows you or your company’s commitment to helping people survive difficult situations.

Host Your Own Fundraiser

Do you have friends or loved ones who’ve traveled the road of domestic violence or sexual assault, or maybe you have yourself, and you want to do something to give back? We can offer guidance on organizing a fundraising event or awareness campaign with resources and support to help you make an impact.

Honor or Remember

Consider making a donation in memory of a loved one or honor of a special occasion. This thoughtful gesture supports Crisis Services while also paying tribute to someone important in your life.

Volunteer Your
Time and Talents

We provide training and support to prepare you for the vital role of answering the HELPline phones or being a client advocate. Additionally, you can volunteer for special projects or initiatives, using your skills and time to make a direct impact.
